Mystery Case Files: Prime SuspectsBig Fish Games has released Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects, a thrilling game that puts game players in the role of a Master Detective. This title is the second in the Mystery Case Files series, a highly-anticipated sequel to the record-setting title Mystery Case Files: Huntsville, which has been enjoyed by more than 8 million consumers, boasts more than 15 million crimes solved, and has remained the top download on almost all game portals.

Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects transports game fanatics to Capital City, USA, a large metropolis where the Queen’s Hope Diamond, on loan from Her Majesty the Queen, was just stolen from the Piazza Gallery Museum. Your job, as Master Detective, is to investigate all of the usual suspects and whittle them down to the five Prime Suspects. Perform thorough investigations, find the culprit, and recover the stolen gem.

There are plenty of suspects to eliminate and clues to search for within the game’s 22 ever-changing levels — a strong lure for players who seek long-term replayability. Adventure-style game mechanics enhance the gameplay by having players search for items which unlock subsequent levels. Thousands of constantly transforming clues are cleverly hidden throughout the beautiful illustrations in each of the 29 unique locations, creating a new experience each time you play. The stunning graphics are further enhanced by the original music, infused with immersive-environment audio and sound effects.

“We finally got to put everything in Prime Suspects that we wanted to put into Huntsville,” said Adrian Woods, the game’s designer. “It’s great to see players enjoying the added gameplay twists, as well as the collection of outlandish suspects. We’re looking forward to challenging the audience with additional Mystery Case Files episodes in the near future.”

Mystery Case Files is quickly establishing itself as a powerful brand and franchise. “The next installment looks to be bigger and better than its acclaimed predecessor,” said Marc Saltzman, Casual Game Reviewer with online magazine Gamezebo. “Whether or not you’ve played Mystery Case Files: Huntsville, be on the lookout for Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects, as it looks to be a fun, challenging, and fresh game to help unleash your inner detective.”

Become a Master of Defense

Posted April 26, 2006 @ 9:08 am - Filed under: New Releases

Master of DefenseMaster of Defense is a new strategy game with a wide array of monster types, wonderfully crafted 3D visuals, and animations.

If you enjoy strategy games, then chances are you will have fun playing Master of Defense. The game challenges you to ward off relentless attacks from nasty monsters and to protect the people who sought refuge in your castle. By building various towers, casting magic spells and fortifying your defenses, you can meet monsters’ attacks with a barrage of fire, trying to save every villager. Defeating monsters also yields rewards - you get paid for one killed monster and gain monetary bonuses at the end of each attack. Use this bonus money to upgrade your towers to increase their firepower, fire speed and range.

“Master of Defense is a unique game in the casual games market” said Patrick Wylie, Vice President of Big Fish Games Studios, publishers of the game. “We decided to publish Master of Defense mainly because half of our company can’t stop playing it while the other half watches. Secondly, we think that its differentiated casual game style is just what a younger audience has been clamoring for - an accessibly addictive RTS!”

Master of Defense lets you explore six diversely themed locations, where you engage into combat with a wide array of monster types. Creatures range from big-headed thingies to mutated animals to flying insect-like monsters. All of them move along a wavy road to your castle. Your objective is to strategically build towers so that monsters are exposed to the maximum fire power. You can fight with four types of towers, a balloon and with magic spells. As the game progresses, monsters become stronger, faster and take more effort to destroy. Therefore, you must spend money on building new towers and upgrading the old ones to improve your chances of winning.

The game is displayed in true 3D from the first-person perspective. You can easily scroll the camera over the ground by using arrow keys on the keyboard, or your mouse. Master of Defense pleases the eye with wonderfully-crafted visuals, level design and animation effects which are peppered throughout the game. All this adds to the game’s replay value and keeps the game fresh and interesting without making it tedious, frustrating or allowing the user to get lost in a 3D space. Master of Defense allows you to save the game at any time and return to it later. The full version of the game features over 180 raids of monsters, an exhilarating Survival mode, and an online high scores table to compare your defensive prowess.

Mega Bounce, A New Breakout-Style Game

Posted April 18, 2006 @ 7:03 am - Filed under: New Releases

Mega BounceMega Bounce is a new game from Gamerty Games. If you enjoy playing Breakout games, then chances are you will love Mega Bounce, because it offers the same riveting gameplay with a number of new improvements and additions to classic Breakout gameplay.

Thanks to an ability to aim, you can better control the ball trajectory and, of course, this results in more smashed blocks and a better score. Much has been done to make Mega Bounce visually appealing to gamers. You will enjoy three themes with wonderful backgrounds that represent space and underwater environments. Instead of classic bricks, you will smash original non-rectangular blocks that vary in shape and design. As you go through the game, you can collect over 20 power-ups, both classic and innovative, that add variety to the gameplay. With over 100 game levels and 3 difficulty levels, Mega Bounce will likely keep you occupied for many weeks to come.

“In making Mega Bounce, we tried to breathe a new life to the gameplay, which is loved by millions,” says Mikhail Bogdanov, game developer at Gamerty Games. “Unlike other breakout games, Mega Bounce has a fast-paced, dynamic gameplay. There is no life counter, so you can play at high speed without the risk of losing soon. Besides, we have included new power-ups, such as multi-ball, spy, move block, key and ball-generator, that all add to the game’s replayability. What’s more there’s no need to kill a few last bricks to move on to the next level. And there is no frustrating “Game Over” ending that makes you start the game all over again.”

Designed for both PC and Pocket PC platforms, the game has no age restrictions and is fun to play for adults and children alike.

7 Wonders of the Ancient World Reviewed

Posted April 14, 2006 @ 7:06 am - Filed under: Reviews

7 Wonders of the Ancient WorldGameZebo has a review of 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, a match-three puzzle game set among the proudest achievements of early civilizations. The list of legendary landmarks, originally compiled by the Greeks in the 2nd century BC, include the following:

  • The Pyramids of Egypt
  • The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
  • The Statue of Zeus at Olympia
  • The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
  • The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
  • The Colossus of Rhodes
  • The Lighthouse of Alexandria

Sadly, only the pyramids still remain, the other great wonders having sucumbed to natural disasters, wars, and the relentless crush of time. But you can revisit these other landmarks through this captivating game, on a journey no one has taken before. It begins at the foot of The Great Pyramid of Giza and continues through the Egyptian sands to the mysterious Hanging Gardens of Babylon. You’ll travel through the enchanting Mediterranean islands to the glory of ancient Greece as your voyage continues. If your aim is sure and will strong, your eyes will behold what none have ever seen — all of the Seven Wonders of the World.

To build the 7 Wonders you must supply building stones to your workers by matching 3 same colored runes. Each wonder has cornerstones and a capstone. You must make matches below these cornerstones and capstones to lower them to your workers. Time is limited. Each wonder is divided into 7 sub levels.

Marc Saltzman at Gamezebo sums it up pretty well:

If you love three-in-a-row puzzle games and are looking for a well-crafted and highly-addictive one with an Egyptian theme, you won’t be disappointed with 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.

Behold the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World!
